How it works
The Method of Performance (MOP)
A MOP tells Amberwell about upcoming construction or maintenance work so the affected areas can prepare. MOPs for all work need at least 48 hours’ advance notice.
- The contractor fills out and signs the MOP. Answering Yes to a hazard question asks for the details reviewers need.
- Amberwell signs off. The Director of Facilities and the Director of Safety/Security (or their designees) sign every MOP. Infection Prevention also signs when the work needs Class III or IV precautions. Sign-offs happen at the same time.
- Any reviewer can send it back with notes. The contractor updates it and signs again, and the sign-offs start over.
- When everyone has signed, the contractor gets an email and work may proceed. The printable record shows every signature.
IC matrix: class of precautions
The form works this out from the construction type and the patient risk group.
| Patient risk group | Type A | Type B | Type C | Type D |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Low risk | I | II | II | III/IV |
| Medium risk | I | II | III | IV |
| High risk | I | II | III/IV | IV |
| Highest risk | II | III/IV | III/IV | IV |
Infection Prevention approval is required when the work calls for Class III or Class IV control procedures.
